What is Self-Care?
Self-care is when you do things to keep yourself mentally, emotionally, physically, socially and spiritually healthy.
In today's society people are working longer hours, some have 2-3 jobs. This can take away the much needed time for self-care. By taking time out for yourself, you can relieve the pressures of everyday life.
Self-care has been clinically proven to reduce anxiety. depression, stress, improve concentration, relationships, minimize anger, increase happiness, energy, self-esteem, productivity, focus and more. It has also been clinically proven to reduce heart disease, cancer and other major illnesses. It can also help keep us more in tune with our spirituality.
Ways to Self-Care?
Tap into your creative side, talk with someone, reflect, journal, meditate, smell some essential oils or flowers, read, make pictures out of clouds, pet an animal, hug a tree, listen to audio books, watch documentaries, work a puzzle, work out, take a walk, listen to music, enjoy the fresh air and sunshine, give someone a hug, cuddle, laugh, take a nap and my favorite self care, get a 90 minute massage.
Just be mindful of the world around you in all the wonders it has to offer.
Self-care is so important to include in our everyday life, even if only for a few minutes at a time. Life is precious and meant to be enjoyed. Now go out and make it a great day~
