Can Essential Oils Help with Stress & Anxiety?
Feeling anxious, stressed, overwhelmed? Out of the five senses, smell is extremely powerful. Essential oils probably
won't cure your emotional issues but they can help uplift your spirits. Much better than taking a pill.
Below are six essential oils that can possibly help you with stress and anxiety. You can use these oils in your diffuser,
make into a perfume or put a few drops inside the palms of your hands, rub together, then deeply inhale through your
nose. You can even simmer 10-20 drops of oils into a few cups of warm water on top of the stove and glide through the
kitchen while doing your daily chores. Ok, here we go.
1. Bergamot
My favorite. It has a bright, citrus scent. Studies are showing bergamot helps increase naturally occurring substances
such as serotonin and dopamine which promote a sense of well being. Known to help with depression.
2. Lavender
Promotes a calm state of being. Helps many people relax into a better sleep. It's also great for burns.
3. Sage
Can help with stress, lift moods of depression, promote more alertness,. Great before taking a test or exam.
4. Ylang-Ylang
Is known to be sedating, excellent for relief from stress and anxiety. Has many strong properties for psychological
benefits and well being.
5. Lemon
An uplifting scent used in many bath and body products and air fresheners. The bright, citrus scent can instantly lift
our moods. Studies have also shown lemon can reduce certain stress hormones.
6. Chamomile
A lot of people drink chamomile tea to help calm the nerves, why not inhale the oil? Another wonderful oil to help make a
bad day better and reduce some of your anxiety.
